Send an empty email to news-join@alsband.org and you will get an email with confirmation instructions, OR Click here and fill out the information.

To

• Post to the list (Send a message to all members)

Send an email with your message to news@alsband.org.

• Unsubscribe

To unsubscribe, send a blank email to news-leave@alsband.org, you will get a confirmation email that you will have to reply to in order to confirm that the request did not come from a forged email header. 

• Change your options

• Get the password you don't have

• Read the eMails we sent you and you lost, threw away, etc.

1. Click here, to unsubscribe, or here to change options, view News archives, or request your password be sent to you.  You will need a password to change anything ... including unsubscribing. 

Important - If you think you are on the list, but never get emails from news@alsband.org

Some folks who have been added to the eMail list have indicated they don't get our eMails.

Most of the time, this issue is due to a SpamTrap.  Maaaaybe you are actually not on the list ... so go ahead and try and add yourself, follow the instructions above  at To Subscribe.   You will get an email sent to you ... unless your SpamTrap eats it.  If you don't get some email from the ListServ within a few minutes, then email me to verify you are on the list.

If you are on the list, then it is likely we are sending you the eMail and something (read:software program) on your behalf .... is throwing it away or stuffing it in a mail Folder called "Trash", "Spam" or similar.  This SpamTrap could be part of email client software on your computer (OutLook, OutLook Express, Thunderbird, Eurdora, etc.).   The SpamTrap could also be in your ISP's (Internet Service Provider e.g. TimeWarner, AOL, Earthlink, Your Phone Company [DSL], etc.) server.    The SpamTrap could be on a webMail host (gmail, yahoo, etc).  Lucky you ... you get to be the one to figure this part out.

It is beyond my capacity to help each person that has a SpamTrap problem, however I am in the habit of making exceptions for anyone who reciprocates with a bottle of Château Lafite-Rothschild 1999.   Short of this, you (or some geek you ambush) will need to determine how you get your email, the likely place that something is trapping what it thinks is Spam, then you/they will Whitelist everything from the alsband.org domain on whatever beast is eating the mail we have been sending you.

You used to get emails from the list, but don't anymore

Maybe You changed your email address?  If so just go sign yourself up at To Subscribe.  Don't worry about unsubscribing the old address in our list, we (read:the mailman program)  will figure it out eventually.

Or, we may have gotten several bounce messages when trying to send to your email address.   This can happen for a number of reasons:

• Your mailbox reached it's quota and the server refuses to receive your mail

• You "forgot" to pay your eMail provider

• Email Technology is, by definition (according to famous author Douglas Adams  "technology - that's the stuff that doesn't work yet"), sometimes non functional

• Your Dog ate your password?

• You are in law enforcement and used to be married to Sara Palin's sister.

• Other unknown

In any event, we are patient, and try many times, but eventually,,after many bounce messages,  we (read:the mailman program) give up and just make your account inactive.  If you fix one of the above, and want to be reactivated, just go sign yourself up at To Subscribe.
